Heartstart – 2 hour C.P.R. courses are currently running throughout the Machars
Jills of all Trades – basic D.I.Y. 6/8 week blocks for women in Whithorn (funded by Community Regeneration Fund – CRF)
Community Newsletter – first issue due out in September to Whithorn community as a pilot through CRF, then next 2 issues to cover all of the Machars
Healthy Cookery Courses – throughout the Machars

The Voice of the Youth – finding out what the health issues are directly from the young people and how their community can help them!
Fruit & Vegetable Initiative – to support the development of high quality fruit and vegetables available locally

There is a growing recognition of the health gains of volunteering. This means that there is an increasing interest in voluntary work. Research in the last decade suggests that 50% of the adult population in Scotland volunteered at least once in the past year.
